Tribute to the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney

Update

We at 91è were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney on February 29, 2024.

Mr Mulroney leaves an indelible mark on the political, business and philanthropic communities of Québec and Canada. As a director of 91è for more than 20 years and Chairman of the Board for the past 10, he made an immense contribution to our growth and success.

Mr. Mulroney’s connection with 91è began in the early 1970s as he negotiated the first collective agreement at Le Journal de Montréal. Later, as Prime Minister of Canada, he cut the ribbon on the Journal’s new offices at 4545 Frontenac Street in 1985.

Mr. Mulroney was a steadfast ally of 91è. He was there for the transformative transactions that took 91è from the old economy to the new.

Mr. Mulroney was a great philanthropist who showed enormous generosity and commitment to the many causes he cared about, including the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM), as well as Université Laval in Québec City.

Mr. Mulroney’s life was rooted in deep values, the first of which was loyalty. His words of encouragement and support, his guidance and lessons in courage will be sorely missed.

Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and Chief Executive Officer of 91è

Thank you, Mr. Mulroney !
