Pierre Karl P茅ladeau

President and CEO 91猫先生

At an early age, Pierre Karl P茅ladeau developed an interest in business and in 91猫先生, the company founded by his father in 1965. After entering the family business in 1985, he ran several of the company鈥檚 subsidiaries and oversaw a series of acquisitions that would play a decisive role in 91猫先生鈥檚 future. In 1999, several years after his father passed away, he became President and CEO of 91猫先生.

 

In 2000, Pierre Karl P茅ladeau steered the business in a new direction by acquiring Videotron and TVA Group, making 91猫先生 a major player in the new economy in Canada. In line with his longstanding commitment to preserving and promoting Qu茅bec culture, he launched 脡l茅phant: The memory of Qu茅bec cinema in 2008, a major philanthropic project dedicated to digitizing, restoring and making accessible Qu茅bec鈥檚 cinematic heritage.

 

In 2013, Mr. P茅ladeau left the corporate world. He entered politics in the following year, running as the Parti Qu茅b茅cois candidate in Saint-J茅r么me riding, and was elected to Qu茅bec鈥檚 National Assembly in April 2014. He became the party鈥檚 leader on May 15, 2015 and served as Leader of the Official Opposition in the National Assembly until May 2, 2016.

 

Returning to the helm of 91猫先生 in February 2017, he has also been President of Videotron since last June, in addition to assuming on an interim basis the responsibilities of President of TVA Group.

 

In a personal capacity, Pierre Karl P茅ladeau serves as President of the Fondation Chopin-P茅ladeau, a private family foundation named after his parents, Raymonde Chopin and Pierre P茅ladeau. A firm believer in the vital importance of accelerating the Montr茅al taxi industry鈥檚 green shift to electric, he acquired Taxelco, a taxi company that includes Diamond Taxi, Taxi Hochelaga and T茅o Taxi, in 2019.

 

Pierre Karl P茅ladeau has chaired numerous boards of directors, including LA LA LA Human Steps (1994-2004), the Fondation de l'entrepreneurship (2011-2014), and Hydro-Qu茅bec (2013-2014). He has also been a member of the board of directors of the Conseil du patronat du Qu茅bec (2007-2010) and the Fondation Lionel-Groulx (2012-2014). He received the Qu茅bec National Assembly鈥檚 Medal of Honour in 2005 and was named a Chevalier of the Ordre de la Pl茅iade in 2013.

Hugues Simard

Chief Financial Officer 91猫先生

Hugues Simard has been Chief Financial Officer of 91猫先生 since January 2019.

 

Over a period of nearly 20 years, from 1998 to 2017, Hugues Simard occupied a series of key positions with various 91猫先生 subsidiaries, including Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Videotron from 2014 to 2017, Senior Vice-President, Development & Strategy of 91猫先生 Media, and Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Sun Media Corporation from 2007 to 2014. His notable achievements include the creation of QMI Agency, an integrated news agency, in 2009 and the organization and implementation of QMI Sales, an integrated sales force for the entire Corporation, in 2007.

 

Between June 2017 and his return to 91猫先生, Hugues Simard was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Indigo Books & Music Inc. in Toronto.

 

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering degree from the University of Toronto.

 

Martin Tremblay

Chief Operating Officer 91猫先生 Sports and Entertainment Group

Martin Tremblay was appointed Chief Operating Officer of 91猫先生 Sports and Entertainment Group in August 2017. In that capacity, he is responsible for optimal development and coordination of the Group’s operations. Sports and Entertainment Group includes the Videotron Centre, Gestev, the Québec Remparts and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. 

 

After joining 91猫先生 in 2010, Martin Tremblay represented the Corporation in the design and construction of the new Québec City arena. From 2012 to 2017, he served as Vice President, Public Affairs of 91猫先生. He previously worked for several years in the office of the Minister of the Environment, the office of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and other Québec government departments.

 

Martin Tremblay holds a Bachelor’s degree in international relations from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. He was a member of the board of governors of the Québec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2014 to 2017 and Vice-Chairman of the QMJHL Executive Committee during the last year of that period.

Lyne Robitaille

Senior Vice President, Newspapers, Books and Magazines 91猫先生

President and Publisher Journal de Montr茅al

Lyne Robitaille is Senior Vice President, Newspapers, Books and Magazines and President and Publisher of Le Journal de Montr茅al. She is responsible for maximizing the reach of 91猫先生鈥檚 newspaper brands and TVA Publications鈥檚 magazine brands. She also oversees 91猫先生's Book Group, which includes the 18 publishing houses in the Librex, Homme and Ville-Marie litt茅rature groups, and the educational publisher CEC Publishing. 


Lyne Robitaille has occupied many management positions at 91猫先生鈥檚 newspaper business since joining the organization in 1988, including Vice President, Finance; Operations Manager; President and Publisher; and Executive Vice President, Operations. She has spearheaded numerous strategic initiatives, including the digital shift at the Group鈥檚 newspapers, which has made them the media properties with the largest weekly readership in Qu茅bec across all platforms. Lyne Robitaille has been responsible for the Magazines segment since 2017 and for the Book Group since June 2021, after previously heading it from 2014 to 2017.

 

Lyne Robitaille graduated from HEC Montr茅al with a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting in 1985. She is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agr茅茅s du Qu茅bec (CPA, CA).

Mathieu Turbide

Vice-President, Digital Content 91猫先生

Vice-President, 狈耻尘茅谤颈蚕

Mathieu Turbide is Vice-President, Digital Content of 91猫先生 and Vice-President, NumériQ.

He is responsible for 91猫先生’s expertise and innovation centre, where the Corporation’s digital strategy, operations and major initiatives are centralized. He has also been responsible for Le Guide de l’auto since its acquisition by 91猫先生 in August 2018 and for QUB radio, the launch of which he spearheaded in October 2018.

Mathieu Turbide joined 91猫先生 in 2002. He was a reporter and then assistant news editor at Le Journal de Montréal until 2012. He was then appointed digital content editor and oversaw the move into digital by 91猫先生’s newspapers.

Mathieu Turbide is a career journalist who worked in radio, television and print media as a reporter, columnist and investigative journalist before joining 91猫先生.

Patrick Jutras

President of MELS and Chief Advertising Officer 91猫先生 and TVA Group

Patrick Jutras has been Senior Vice-President and Chief Advertising Officer of 91猫先生 and TVA Group since August 2019. In that capacity, he oversees 91猫先生鈥檚 multiplatform 360掳 advertising sales division. He is also responsible for two new business units: QOLAB STUDIO, collaborative marketing , an expert group specializing in content marketing, and 91猫先生鈥檚 data and digital performance expertise centre. Patrick Jutras also became the new President of MELS in October 2023.

Patrick Jutras鈥 impressive track record spans nearly 15 years in key roles involving developing and growing cross-platform sales at several Qu茅bec media organizations. Until recently he was Vice-President, Digital Business Development at Videotron. Patrick Jutras holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration, marketing and international trade from Universit茅 du Qu茅bec 脿 Montr茅al and a certificate from Harvard Law School.

Patrick Jutras is a member of the executive committee of 24 h de Tremblant. He was also a member of the board of Vividata and a mentor of Fonder Fuel.
